Agent Portal is an independent editorial resource focused on the merchant services industry. We publish plain-language guides about payment processing, agent programs, POS systems and merchant portals. This page explains who we are, what we publish, and what we won't publish.
We are an editorial team writing about a niche industry — merchant acquiring, card processing, ISO programs, POS systems — that most readers find opaque. Our audience is primarily small-business operators trying to make sense of their processing costs, and independent agents trying to understand the programs they've signed with or are considering signing with.
We are not affiliated with Global Payments Inc., Total System Services (TSYS), Heartland Payment Systems, Fiserv, First Data, Worldpay, or any other payment company referenced in our editorial coverage. We do not operate any processor sign-in page, do not collect login credentials, and do not provide account support. The brand names, trademarks and registered marks we mention belong to their respective owners; we reference them descriptively in editorial coverage, not as an endorsement or affiliation.
Each guide is drafted, reviewed by the editorial team, fact-checked against primary sources, and then published. Articles are re-reviewed on a rolling basis — the "reviewed" date at the top of each page reflects the most recent editorial pass. When an article's substantive facts change (for example, when a rate schedule is updated or a company is acquired), we re-publish with the current information and an indication of what was updated.
Agent Portal is produced by a small editorial team of merchant services analysts with combined decades of experience in the industry — reading statements, interpreting residual reports, advising agents and merchants, and following the trajectory of the major processors and their agent programs. We publish under the Editorial Team byline because editorial responsibility is collective, and because individual article credit has historically been used as a targeting surface in this industry.
Agent Portal is supported by display advertising placed through standard programmatic networks. Advertisers are not consulted on editorial coverage, and advertising relationships do not create coverage commitments. If you see an advertisement for a specific processor or POS system on this site, that is not an endorsement of the advertiser's product.
We welcome reader questions and corrections. Editorial correspondence goes to the contact page. We are not able to provide portal access, account support or processor-specific troubleshooting; for those, contact the support number on your merchant statement or your sponsoring ISO.
